The researchers also found that if the mice were unable to produce the "TIMP3" protein, the reduction in blood cells would be difficult to recover. Once the "TIMP3" is excessive, the hematopoietic stem cells in the "hibernation" state wake up and start to divide.
The researchers said that during chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the blood cells in the human bone marrow will be destroyed, thereby reducing the risk of infection and anemia.
