Recently, relevant experts reminded the industry that it is time for investment in the recycling of packaging waste.
There are three reasons: First, the recycling of packaging materials has obvious economic and ecological benefits. According to the material, packaging products can be basically divided into four categories: paper products, plastic products, glass products and metal products, most of which are renewable resources. According to the current level of recovery, recycling 140,000 tons of cartons a year will save 80,000 tons of coal for the same amount of paper; 40 million will be used for various types of steel drums, and 48,000 tons of steel will be saved.
Second, the continuous growth of packaging waste production provides sufficient production resources for recycling. From the statistics of the total output of the national packaging industry, the current four types of packaging products are approximately 8.35 million tons, 2.44 million tons, 4.44 million tons, and 1.61 million tons, respectively, and are growing at an average annual rate of 12.5-30%.
Third, the treatment technology for packaging waste has become increasingly mature, and the treated packaging waste has many uses. For example, degradable plastics composting and soilless cultivation techniques can be used to detoxify the plastic lunch boxes. For another example, waste plastics oiling technology uses high-performance catalysts to "depolymerize" high-density polyethylene or polypropylene plastics to produce diesel and gasoline that meet national standards.
