Principle and method of ink penetration drying test
At regular intervals, the scrape of the ink on the newsprint and the blank newsprint are rubbed under a certain pressure. When the blank newsprint is no longer stained by friction, the storage time of the scrape is calculated, and the dryness of the ink is expressed by this method. It is suitable for the determination of the drying of printing ink, printing ink and writing ink.
Tools and materials
(1) A square glass piece with a mass of ≈ 0.15 g, with a side length of 20 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.

Testing method
(1) Place a small amount of the tested ink on newsprint with a doctor blade, and scrape the ink into a thin layer from top to bottom with a doctor blade. The thin layer of ink is about 4 to 5 cm wide and 12 cm long (not Shorter than 10cm).
(2) Record the time when the ink sample is scraped, and place the scraping paper flat on a smooth glass plate (with the ink sample up) after an interval of 15 minutes. Cover it with another blank newsprint strip, and then press the square glass and weight on the end of the strip near the scrape.
(3) Quickly grasp the other end of the blank newsprint strip and move it in the lateral direction of the scrape, so that the newsprint rubs against the scrape under the pressure of the glass sheet and the weight.
(4) Check whether the newsprint is stained. If it is still dyed, repeat the above test at different positions with new newsprint at a certain time in the future until the newsprint is not stained after the test, and then calculate the ink sample after scraping to the newsprint The time required before dyeing is not seen is the drying time.
