Packaging Enterprises' Competitiveness after Entering WTO (Part One)

Under market economy conditions, product quality is a clear navigation mark for market access, and the pursuit of excellence in product quality is the eternal theme of the company. No matter how the market environment changes, product quality is always an extremely important factor for enterprises to participate in market competition, and it is the key to affecting the competitiveness of enterprises.
Packaging is an inseparable part of the modern overall product concept. It is a basic condition for the production of commodities, circulation of commodities, exchange of commodities, and consumption of commodities. The quality of product packaging becomes an indispensable measure for evaluating product quality characteristics. index. High-quality products do not have high-quality packaging, product quality is incomplete, and products lack international competitiveness, and they cannot “go global” to participate in international market competition. Therefore, how to improve the quality of packaging products (packaging materials, packaging containers) and product packaging services (packaging operations) for packaging and packaging companies providing industrial and agricultural products has become an extremely important issue for improving the competitiveness of packaging companies.
China has joined the WTO. As the market continues to expand and deepen, the domestic market will have more foreign goods to enter, and Chinese goods will have to move more toward the international market. Faced with a large number of competitors in foreign excellent packaging companies, China's packaging companies after joining the WTO will inevitably face more cruel market competition. Only by continuously intensifying quality management, striving to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, and continuously providing high-quality packaging products and product packaging services to the market, can we better meet the challenges faced by enterprises after China's accession to the WTO, and better participate in the international division of labor and international market competition. Only in this way can our packaging companies better adapt to the needs of our national economic development. To this end, China's packaging companies must first grasp the quality system certification, and better meet the international quality standards; second, we must strengthen quality control to ensure the effective operation of the quality system; third is to take effective measures to continuously improve the quality system. Only in this way can we continuously improve the market competitiveness of packaging companies.
First, do a good job in quality system certification, get a business permit to participate in the international division of labor and products to the international market
Since China's accession to the WTO, the obstacles to China's product exports have been mainly due to trade barriers in other countries. Trade barriers are divided into two major categories: tariff barriers and non-tariff barriers, in which the non-tariff barriers are divided into several cases: First, importers impose restrictions on the quantity or amount of imported goods, such as import quotas; second, some economically developed countries (Importer) develops strict, even harsh, and numerous technical regulations (such as technical standards, safety and health standards) to restrict the export of goods from economically underdeveloped countries; Third, technical barriers, ie, non-tariff barriers and standardization, A type of trade barrier related to quality certification. Since the 1970s, technical barriers have become a means by which economically developed countries use more and more restrictions on imports. After China's accession to the WTO, the biggest obstacle for domestic enterprises to participate in international market competition lies in this.
After China's accession to the WTO, although Chinese enterprises can exert their comparative advantages to a greater degree, they do not understand the international business environment, business regulations, and international practices better than foreign companies, especially multinational companies in developed countries. Therefore, there is a big gap between the technical issues of the products and the international technical standards and they do not understand the international market conditions of producing similar products with themselves. In particular, China's packaging companies, regardless of product variety or product quality, have a large gap with developed countries and lack market competitiveness. The Quality Management and Quality Assurance Technical Committee (TC176) of the World Organization for Standardization (ISO) organized quality management experts from various countries. After ten years of hard work and coordination, it has studied and summarized the quality management and quality of all countries in the world, especially the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada. Guarantee theory and experience, in June 1986 formally released ISO 8402 quality terminology standards. In March 1987, the ISO9000-9004 series of standards (called the 87 version) was officially released. The ISO9000 standard has been implemented in eight countries in the world and has evolved from a series of standards to the ISO9000 standard. In July 1994, the Internationalization Standards Organization and Quality Assurance Technical Committee (ISO/TC176) formally released a revised version of the ISO9000 family standard (94). At the end of 1997, ISO/TC176 proposed the second revision of the standard. After three years of revision and restructuring, the 2000 version of the ISO9000 family standard has undergone major structural adjustments, and the number has also been merged. Standard requirements/guidelines are more general, more convenient, and more flexible for any organization.
The ISO9000 family of standards is currently the most advanced international standard in quality management and quality assurance, and meets the needs of various organizations for strengthening quality management and external competition. Therefore, this set of standards is the need for the reform of China's corporate and business management system, but also the need to participate in the competition in the international market. It is both an extension and a supplement to the work quality and product quality standards of various organizations. Therefore, packaging companies in China must earnestly study, study, understand the essence of the deep connotation of their standards, understand the requirements of quality management and quality assurance put forward by China's current market economy, and in conjunction with the reality of the packaging industry, do a good job in conformity with standards (quality system certification Standards implementation and certification will enable China's packaging product quality and product packaging service quality to better integrate with international quality standards, so as to obtain access to enter the international market and participate in international market competition.
Second, strengthen quality control to ensure the effectiveness of the quality system operation
The quality system certification only provides management standards for the company's quality management as a quality system element for evaluating the quality assurance of the company's products and meeting the quality requirements of the products. Can the company provide the market with products and companies that meet the needs of the customers and meet the standards? This kind of quality assurance ability also needs to rely on the effective implementation of quality system certification standards, that is, to ensure the effectiveness of the quality system operation.
