Siemens Automation and Drives Group offers two basic automation packages for horizontal bag machines, one for standard machines and the other for high-speed machines. The hardware in both packages includes all important components such as controllers, drives, power supplies, I/Os, connection buses, and operator panels. The Simotion D motion control system controls the general settings of the PLC and motion control sections.
In order to simplify the automation of various different types of machines, software packages are modular and open, and functions like sealing, feeding or temperature control can be performed with the help of a software library in the automation package. At the same time, this automation package also contains the standard settings of the control panel, which can be displayed on the screen such as fine-tuning, temperature control or diagnostic information.
