Vietnam submits revision notification of toy safety regulations through WTO
On December 7, 2017, Vietnam submitted G/TBT/N/VNM/114 notification through the WTO, and proposed to revise the Vietnamese Toy Technical Regulations (QCVN 03/2009-BKHCN). The main revisions include:
1. To increase the phthalate ester content limit of not more than 0.1%, the testing standard is TCVN 6238-6 (ISO 8124-6); increase the safety requirements of electric toys according to TCVN 11332 (electric toy safety standard IEC 62115);
2. Add new toy tag requirements according to 43/2017/N?-CP;
3. To clarify the safety requirements and test methods for children's toys, imported children's toys and toys that can be purchased on the market in Vietnam;
4. The products listed in the annex are not within the scope of this draft technical regulation.
The comment period shall be within 60 days after the issuance of the notification.
