Street shop | Mobile container cost-effective than renting a store

In a corner of The Kingsway Forest in Toronto, Canada, a pure white container was parked, and the square glass windows on both sides reflected the natural scenery around it, such as the picture framed by the container, attracting attention. The doors at both ends of the container are opened and a space surrounded by wooden floors can be seen. The furnishings are extremely simple, with only a row of hangers, a large mirror, a sofa, a round table and a bonsai.

White Oak is made in a striped pattern on the side walls and ceiling. Herringbone pattern is on the ground. The light and dark reflections in the concave and convex changes make people feel its position.

This is the first "physical store" of online sportswear brand Needs & Wants, but it is also a mobile shop. This summer, they will travel from Toronto to the United States, through the two cities of Prince Edward and Mississauga in Ontario, and finally arrive in Miami in the fall. Of course this is an ideal plan. They are not willing to tell their fans exactly where they are, but they want to attract potential users through mobile advertising.

The value of the traditional physical store itself is stability. The customer knows where it is and buys it, but Sean Brown has chosen this way of mobility. When the container is not used as a store, it is still an office. What surprises him is a person who rides a bike or walks nearby. One day in Toronto, 30 to 50 guests come. Because of the limited space, all transactions are completed online.

Founded in 2013, Needs & Wants founder Sean Brown was also a designer. He once worked in a clothing store and founded The Art of Reuse, an online brand that specializes in used clothing. When doing Needs & Wants, he wanted to make a men's clothing brand that looks less "Canada". For example, baseball jackets use an asymmetrical design. The colors of pockets and sleeves are inconsistent. They look high-end and fashionable. The jacket costs about $500.
