When setting a reference object, Kestrel 4500 can automatically calculate the crosswind, downwind and headwind speeds. If it is combined with the Kestrel wind vane device, a small weather station can be built to record weather data in seconds.
Kestrel 4500 is a rotating wind cup anemometer. It is compact and easy to carry. The use of high-precision bearings and lightweight impellers can accurately measure the wind speed value, even when the wind speed is very small (as low as 0.3m / s). If the impeller is damaged, it can be replaced.
Kestrel 4500 can also calculate wind chill index, heat index, dew point temperature, wet bulb temperature and density height based on the measurement data of each sensor. Wind chill is a human's perceived temperature for wind speed and low temperature. The higher the wind speed, the lower the human perceived temperature; the heat index is the human's perceived temperature for temperature and relative humidity. The higher the relative humidity, the higher the human perceived temperature; the dew point Temperature refers to the temperature of the air when it is cooled to saturation under the condition that the water vapor content and the air pressure do not change; the density altitude is the altitude after the air pressure altitude value is checked against the temperature.
