Most of these PET beer bottles and bottle caps use oxygen purification technology. Judging from the hundreds of millions of bottles of 0.5-liter plastic bottled beer sold in Germany last year, the caps using oxygen purification technology are very effective. Beers filled with plastic bottles and oxygen-purged plastic lids are no different in taste from traditional glass bottles + crown caps. In some tests, plastic bottled beer tastes fresher.
In a six-month laboratory test, the test results for plastic beer caps using oxygen purification technology were excellent. For example, the AMCOR Bindox multi-layer bottle tested by the Technical University of Berlin and the lid of the oxygen purification bottle of Ballygai. In the test, the inspectors filled the bottle with mineral water. After 6 months, the content of oxygen in the bottle body was detected and oxygen was found. The content has decreased. This shows that the oxygen scavenging cap absorbs more oxygen than the oxygen entering the bottle during the test.
